Pediatric Speech &
Language Therapy Services

Comprehensive Evaluations
An evaluation is required before beginning speech and language therapy.
Accessible Tx uses a variety of assessment tools to diagnose the presence of a speech or language delay/disorder. Evaluations use a combination of background information, parent and teacher interviews, observation(s), informal assessments, and standardized testing. Once an evaluation is complete, a written report including a discussion of findings and recommendations is provided. If therapy is warranted, we will collaborate to create meaningful therapy goals and plan of care!
Below are the areas and focuses of assessments:
Articulation/Phonology Assessment: Evaluate a child’s speech-sound productions using formal and informal measures to assess if there are distorted speech-sound productions of errored sound patterns.
Expressive/Receptive Language Assessment: Contains formal and informal measures to assess a child’s language abilities. Examples of areas evaluated include vocabulary, grammar, syntax, narrative skills, comprehension, and inferencing.
Pragmatics/Social Language Assessment: Includes multiple formal and informal measures of a child’s skills and knowledge during social interactions.
Individual Speech Therapy
Sessions are for 30 minutes, one to two times per week depending on the client's needs and attention span. We always take time to discuss the session and homework with the client and parents, or to send parents a note including the activities we did and how to complete the homework (for daycare or preschool sessions).
